- Norinco JW15 Magazine 22 Long Rifle (22LR) 5 Round (NJW15MAG) $51 00. Email me when available. Norinco JW15 Complete Bolt (UN15B) $110 00. Norinco 7.62x39mm 122 Grain.
Collected my Norinco JW-21 22 levergun yesterday. Went shooting this morning. Man, I should have had this little gun 30 years ago. It's got an incredibly complicated two piece bolt assembly, but that enables it to feed anything from a 22LR to an empty shell. Takes 15 LRs in the magazine. 1' at 25 meters with open sights. Norinco JW-15A in 22LR with 24' barrel, Nikon scope. Rifle is used with a very good bore, stock has some light dings and scuffs, bolt knob has a few dings. Comes with 1 mag, no box.
First, the thing is a Chinese copy of a ZKM451 (Brno model 1), but don't expect anywhere near the finished machining of the original Brno. The little JW is has a finish that fits the priceOwner’s Manual JW-2000 COACH SHOTGUN 12 Ga. IMPORTANT SAFETY MESSAGE Firearm Safety Depends on You A gun is only as safe as the person operating it. You can never be overly careful when handling a firearm. Carelessness is often the cause of.
Step One. Clean off all the preserving oil gunk they drown the gun in. You may as well completely disassemble it to do this as the sweat shop workers who assemble these things aren't the best at it. Mine had the scope arse about and the action screws where half tight, While your at it, throw the scope in the bin as it's next to useless.. more on that later.
Anyway, first 50 shots I put through the rifle, as it came from the ship, it sprayed out like after a night on the curry. I put most of this down to the $2 optics and couldn't even manage a 4' group at 10 yards.. seriously, it was that bad.
So next day I completely pulled the rifle apart, took to the stock with a sharp chisel and hacked away like a lunatic until the barrel was fully floated. After re-assembly, I made sure all screws were tight, like real tight.
One thing you need to do to properly mount a scope is loose the iron sights. These things have a small length of pull and if you mount a reasonable length variable scope it bangs up against the rear tang and you can't get it forward enough to get proper eye relief to shoot prone.
Anyways, grease removed, iron sights gone tata, barrel floated, assembled properly and my spare Nikko GC 3-9x40mm mounted. This is what it looks like now. Hows it shoot? Check the next page January 2010
The Norinco JW-21 is a Chinese copy of the Winchester 9422 Legacy, with a tang safety and a pistol grip stock. The forearm is held on with a screwinto the barrel (presumably via a dovetail) -- there's no barrel band.
I got this one from the Classic Arms auction in October 2006. I didn't go,I asked a friend to bid on my behalf. Somewhere along the way I lost thenote I made about how much I paid, but I expect it was somewhere betweenR1000 and R2000.
Pictures and disassembly
One big magic screw...
... and it comes apart.
The bolt / breechblock assembly is quite complicated, but the result isthat the JW-21 feeds an empty case from the magazine into the chamber. Mybolt guns can't even do this. This of course also means that you canshoot BB cap, short, long and long rifle ammunition. Some other designs, like the Winchester 1873 and 1876, are very sensitive to cartridge length. This gun isn't.

Norinco 22 Rifles For Sale
2010-01-10: I basically suck at shooting with open sights (I wear thickglasses which distort things if I tilt my head, I'm right handed butleft eye dominant, and I went half blind in my right eye (fortunately only fora short while) ten years ago, presumably because of stress.
So I'm thinking this rifle will do a lot better in my hands if I stucka scope on it.
Swartklip 'Match Trainer' -- basically the run-of-the-mill locally producedammo (except they stopped producing it. Fortunately I stocked up).
Swartklip high velocity. Got 3 boxes at a good price (still quite expensive). It doesn't shoot well out of any of my guns except this one.

Notes on Norinco rifles
From somewhere on the internet.
They're not fancy in a lot of cases, but they're rock solid shooters at a great price. You won't find a one that won't go bang when you pull the trigger.
Their J line of .22 rifles are all copies of other firearms to some degree or another. The JT-10 and JT-14 and JW-14 (civilian market version of the JT-14) are designed to looklike and mostly function like SKS rifles. They used them as trainers for rear guard troops. The receivers have lots of extra steel and over-large cocking handles and sights toreplicate the SKS. The J-10 and JW-15 are copies of BRNO bolt actions. They're as good asthe originals as long as you squint past the wood. The ATD-22 (once called the JW-20 andJA-21) is a copy of a Browning semi-auto take down rifle design....and it's as good or betterthan the original it was based on. The current JW-21 is a cowboy-style lever action. It's asclose to being a baby Marlin 1894/5 as they come. Fine rifle in all regards. The JW-23 is a.22 mag version of a JW-15....again, a copy of a BRNO bolt action target rifle. Fine gunin all regards. The JW-25 is a baby Mauser K-98. It's a direct copy of a German KKW Mausertraining rifle....and is as close to owning and firing a real .22 Mauser 98 as most of uswill ever come. That's a *very* desireable item! The JW-27 and 8 are, again, copies of BRNOdesigns. As good and better than the originals.
The 'E' guns are entirely original Chinese designs based on their Olympics target rifles.Their EM-332 and 332A are as good a rifle as *anything* you'll find anywhere else. High polished blue, cut checkering, match trigger and sights etc. I could sell those day in and day out if klinton hadn't cut the supply off.
